Laser Tag

A couple weeks ago I went to an Intervarsity activity. We went to a place called Lazerquest to play laser-tag. We had a lot of fun. When we first got there everyone was really excited and for good reason because laser-tag is amazing. So, we enter the laser-tag area and we put on our laser packs and get ready to shoot some people, and the countdown starts. My friends and I started running, trying to find a good hiding spot. The game was a lot of fun and I was really tired at the end because I get really competitive with these kinds of things. I actually received first place for my amazing laser-tag skills. We played a total of two games; the second game I did not do as well, but I still got fifth place which is not too bad. This was a really fun activity and I plan on doing other activities with Intervarsity. It was a really good opportunity to meet new people and to have fun and get my mind off of school. So I was really glad that I chose to do this activity and I had a blast.

I went to a preseason Spurs game against Greece with some of my friends. I know, it's a little weird that they played a team from Europe, but it was still fun. My friend's mom won the tickets at a Spurs game so they were all free. So we get to the stadium and we can't find our seats. So we ask an attendant and the tell us that we are in a box. We took an elevator to the "special section" and we find our seats. Along the way we see a chef, a really nice place to get drinks, and a lot of rich people. So sitting in the box was really cool; it wasn't a private box but a bunch of people were in it. The actual game was kind of boring because it was a preseason game and all of the starters played for only the first quarter. Nonetheless, I had a lot of fun and I plan on doing it again. The best part of the night was just goofing around with my friends and having a good time.

This past weekend it was my friends birthday, so the people in my hall and I decided to take him to the fountain. First off we surprised him in Beze underground at 12 o'clock ; I woke him up and told him that he had to play ping-pong with me. He didn't suspect anything. After we sang happy birthday and had some cake we decided that a trip to the fountain was in order. Whenever we take people to the fountain I am always stuck with carrying them up to the fountain; I am getting pretty good at it now. So I carried him to the fountain and put him in and made sure that he dunked himself in all the way. Afterwords we took a lot of pictures, and we kind of forgot to bring towels, so he had to walk home wet. He was very happy that we made his birthday exciting. I had a lot of fun carrying him to the fountain, but it was really hard.

On the weekend of September 25th to September 27th I went on the NSR Intervarsity retreat. It started when I left Trinity on Friday and started the drive to Corpus Cristi. It was a fun drive, we stopped off at Cracker Barrel for dinner. Then we arrived at our hotel. It wasn't the best hotel but it worked for the purpose which we needed it for. We had many worship sessions, the music was really good, and we had a lot of small group bible studies. It was really nice getting off campus and not having to worry about school or homework for a weekend. We also went to the beach where we played a lot of different games , my favorite was watermelon football. Watermelon football is where there is a watermelon in the water and each team has to get it across the opposing teams goal line. Overall it was a really fun weekend where I met a lot of new people and made a lot of good friends. I would recommend that everyone should go to this next year because it was a blast and I had a lot of fun.

On Friday September 18, I went to a TUVAC club called PAWS for my first activity at Trinity. We went to a humane society animal center and took care of dogs. When I got here I went to the kennel and picked out which dog I wanted to walk and play with, this was kind of frustrating because you can only take out dogs with certain colored tags and only a few had these tags. But nonetheless I found a dog named Jill and took her on a walk. She was kind of crazy and hyper ( I guess I would be too if I was locked up all the time). So I walked her around and it was very fun she seemed to be very happy that I took her out of her cage. Everyone seemed to have their hands full with all of their dogs. People were running around trying to keep their dogs under control and make sure that they were ok. In the end I am very happy that I went to PAWS and I will do it again. Hopefully my next activity will be as fun as PAWS. I am thinking of doing some intramurals or some other type of volunteer work.
